It all started out so normal…

Yeah … those guys. We did something crazy. We wrote a book together.

Crazy talk, I know.

How did this happen? We were just trying to be the four cool dudes, banded together for Mid South Con 2015 at one convenient location. One table, under — god I swear — which we could hang out under the guise of hawking our wares.

That’s how it all started. So innocent, so normal. And then, on a whim, we decided it might be fun to write a book together. What could go wrong? Four goofy horror writers who spend most of their on line time together ribbing one another (all in good fun, of course) surely can weave together a tale of horror so frightening it may not even be safe for human consumption.

The best laid plans of rats and chumps.

We should have known what would happen when I said, “I’ve always wanted to write a B-Horror novel.”

Yeah, we should have known. Instead, we dove on in and swam those murky waters of words. What we created was at the same time oddly twisted and beautifully hilarious. And by hilarious, I mean …

Like whoa!

I kicked the book off, surprisingly enough, with Chapter 1. From that point, all bets were oof — and I do mean “oof”, as in this story will kick you upside the head until you’re not really sure what’s up, down, right, wrong — or just how tall Morgan Freeman really is. When I finished my chapter, I sent it on to Jay Wilburn who, in turn, penned his own flavor of strangeness and then passed it on to Brent Abell. After Brent touched the story in ways which I cannot repeat, he turned it over to Armand who, well, did very Armand-like things to the plot and characters.

Instead of fighting what quickly devolved into a bizarre, but fully truthful and realized take on the world of Hollywood, we stepped back and took it all in. What we conjured, any writer would be proud of. It’s quirky as hell, bizarre-o, and unlike anything you’ve ever read. And soon, very soon, you’ll be able to get your dirty paws on a copy of Hollywood Hellmouth.

March 13th (that’s a Friday the 13th, for you “died” in the wool horror fans) is the release date. If you happen to be at Mid South Con, you’ll be able to get a paperback copy signed by all four of us crazy bastards.

Trust me, you don’t want to miss this book.

I can’t begin to tell you how proud I am to have written something with such talented and cool guys. Now, the biggest question of my professional life comes — will I finally get to eat lunch at the cool table?
