Shawn Chesser on Middletown Apocalypse

IMG_4472First off I’d like to thank Jack Wallen for inviting me to write a piece for the upcoming ‘Middletown Apocalypse’ collaboration. What a great group of scribblers to have the privilege of rubbing elbows with! In fact, as I write this, I’m chomping at the bit to read the other ten author’s unique takes on the same central premise. I’m also excited to learn how our shared character, Charlie Noble, gets fleshed out and utilized in ten different ways.

Having written the same protagonist and supporting characters-at least the ones I haven’t killed off … yet (insert evil laugh) – for going on five years and nine books now, being able to give birth to a brand new protagonist in ‘Noble Intentions’ has been refreshing, to say the least

As for my contribution, I don’t want to give too much away about my protagonist Leland Riker, but I will say he’s a man with a dry sense of humor, who, after a long bus ride from Atlanta finds himself smack dab in the center of a zombie outbreak in the heartland of America.

Not a fan of people or crowds, he ultimately finds himself having to deal with both, the former in the form of an obnoxious seat mate, and the latter in a place where he least expects it.

About Shawn

Shawn Chesser, author of the best-selling ‘Surviving the Zombie Apocalypse’ series has been a zombie fanatic for decades. He likes his creatures shambling, trudging and moaning. As for fast, agile, screaming specimens… not so much. He lives in Portland, Oregon, with his wife, two kids, and two fish.
