Middletown 2 The Interview: Armand Rosamillia

What makes the apocalyptic genre so appealing to you?

The fact some of these things might actually come to fruition. The world collapsing around us is a very real concept, and when I’m writing apocalyptic fiction I wonder how much of it might someday be real.

What about this project was uniquely challenging to you?

The limited parameters we were given. The fact each story still had to be unique. I didn’t think it would work but it really did. Trying to come up with an idea when the basis for the idea itself was being used by a dozen other authors was challenging.

What draws you to projects like this?

Jack Wallen. He keeps asking me to do cool projects and I keep accepting them. The challenge of it was also a big factor. But mostly Jack Wallen.

If there was one thing key to your writing style, what would that be?

I’m comfortable with my voice as an author. I know I have room to improve and grow but I’m in a nice groove where the characters really speak to me and let the story flow much easier than when I first began writing all those many years ago.

If someone were to write you into an apocalyptic story, what would be the plot?

The race for a fat (and sexy) dude who tries to eat every last M&M in the world before he dies.
