Dark Side Down is almost risen

Ladies and gentlefunk of the Jackverse, it is with great pleasure that I get to remind you that the third book in The Nameless Saga is nearly upon us. The official release date is April 21st…that’s THIS COMING FRIDAY! O. M. G.

Those of you who have been following me long enough, know that this particular series is quite special to me, as it is a pseudo reflection upon the publishing industry, while at the same time a deep dive into turning religious history on its head.

How did this series come about? Let me tell you a little story.

It all started as an exercise in me sloughing away a few demons that had decided to nip me in the hinder. Those demons were born of the publishing industry and I had to do something before they took me down; said something was to write the industry a letter. I knew the letter would never be sent to anyone, but I needed to write it, needed to expel those demons. As I dug into the writing of this letter, something magical happened.

A story.

But this wasn’t just any story; this was a story within a story within a story — a Russian Nesting Doll constructed of poetry and prose that quickly became something I was very proud of. As the story unfolded, I realized the exercise created something far bigger than a letter…something many writers had felt, but couldn’t voice. Thus was birthed, Hell’s Muse.

In the beginning was the Word – and the Word was a lie.

A struggling writer dives into the dark pits of madness to create his most perfect work – a parallel of his own life, only twisted into a malignant hatred. When the written word opens a gateway to Hell, every truth the writer believes is challenged, every lie made truth.

As a trail of death and sorrow spills from the words, the writer is drawn into an unholy abyss to become Hell’s Muse.

Initially, this book was going to be a stand-alone story. However, after the reception Hell’s Muse received, and my love for the universe, I decided it had to continue on. The next book in the narrative…The Nails of Calvary.

In the beginning was the lie.

The Nameless is back, only this time with a plan that might bring the walls of Hell crashing down.

A young girl, sent into Hell to prevent an epic battle between good and evil, discovers a truth far darker than she’d ever imagined.

The original lie.

Her only chance of survival lies in the wretched pens of Hell’s Muse. Should she fail, the war between Heaven and Hell will destroy humankind.

Should she succeed, an eternal evil might still be unleashed. A win-win for the minions of Hell.

That brings us to now and the release of Dark Side Down. This book brings an all-too familiar name into the mix of The Nameless, The Engineer, and Leviathan.

Satan.

In the beginning was The Word.
And The Word was a lie.
Now The Lie is unmade.

The Nameless is back. The Muse is gone. The Engineer is pissed. And Satan himself has returned to Hell. With the unholy triumvirate back together, the Holy War draws ever nearer.

Has-been writer, Bronson Coulter, must fight to save his soul, prevent himself from being drawn back into Hell as its Muse, and stop the war between Heaven and Hell from being unleashed on humankind.

In this bleak and twisty take on religious history, Jack Wallen dives back into the world of Hell and once again takes on the publishing industry’s dark underbelly.

Catch up with The Nameless and his dark cohorts before the new book is released.
